This is how the pond looked as of August 29, 2001. The huge sunflower growing by the bench was one of many that grew from the seeds I feed the birds. The giant sunflowers have died but this one just keeps on blooming so the landscape is not how I plan it to be.
The picture below is one taken after a severe thunderstorm. When I went outside my eyes felt like they were out of whack. There was this strange glow to everything and the greens were very intense almost neon which the picture doesn't truly show. It was very eerie.
The area that is around the playhouse is currently being "paved" with stone dug into the dirt making an informal path. I have also dug in a small stair to take some of the pitch out of the sloping yard. Next year I want to plant a Japanese Maple near the fence to hide add some demension, height and color to the area. That's a pumpkin plant growing on the fence now. It has 2 pumpkins almost ready for pickin!
